PALM HARBOR FL REAL ESTATE
subdivisions | homes under $500K | homes over $500K | condos | overview | parks | beach
Palm Harbor was supposed to be one of the original towns in the St. Petersburg / Clearwater area, but it is a town in name only. In the 1880s the real estate area was plotted for a city to be named Sutherland. The area changed its name to Palm Harbor in 1925, but the depression kept it from developing into a city and it was never incorporated in Pinellas County. However, it is a thriving community with more than 65,000 residents and great natural beauty. Today the city thrives on its small-town charm. Most of the downtown has been restored and many historical pieces are on display in the area’s historical museum. Palm Harbor has three fine arts, crafts and music festivals annually: The Palm Harbor Arts, Palm Harbor Day in May, and Crafts & Music Festival held in December and the Downtown Merchants Arts, Crafts and Music Festival in February.
