Easy Decorating Ideas Article | Lipply Real Estate Group
Whether you have been in your home for years or are just moving in, decorating a home can be challenging. You want to find pieces that accentuate the positives in your home and hide the negatives. You can hide a weird corner with an artificial tree or corner piece of furniture. If you have exquisite doors or windows, don’t hide them behind curtains or blinds. Get simple shutters that can be opened and closed to show the charm your home portrays. If the most appealing part of your home is the view, make sure your furniture faces windows and doors that highlight these areas.
COLOR
Your color choices do not have to be the same in each room, but should fall into the same color tones. If you prefer bold colors or earth tones, carry them throughout your home. It will make you feel as if each room flows together instead of making your home look choppy and unappealing. You don’t need each piece of wood to be the exact same shade, but you want to make sure they blend. Stick with either light to medium shades or medium to dark. Having light in one area of a room and dark in another may make your home look as if you put pieces together that aren’t suppose to coincide.
There are many other things to consider when decorating your home including space design, furniture scale and decor flow and it’s always a good idea to do some research and talk to some of the professionals at the various furniture stores – some even offer a free home visit consultation.
