Palm Harbor was sup
posed to be one of the original towns in the St.
Petersburg / Clearwater area, but it is a town in name only. In the 1880s
the real estate area was plotted for a city to be named Sutherland. The
area changed its name to Palm Harbor in 1925, but the depression kept it from
developing into a city and it was never incorporated in
Pinellas County. However, it is a thriving
community with more than 65,000 residents and great natural beauty. Today
the city thrives on its small-town charm. Most of the downtown has been
restored and many historical pieces are on display in the area's historical museum.
Palm Harbor has three fine arts, crafts and music festivals annually: The Palm Harbor
Arts, Palm Harbor Day in May, and Crafts & Music Festival held in December and the
Downtown Merchants Arts, Crafts and Music Festival in February. I highly recommend
Palm Harbor real estate, take it from someone who actually lived in Palm
Harbor for 10 years! Below are just a few samples of homes in Palm Harbor
neighborhoods that are very affordable and also a few luxury homes. As you
can see, whatever you want in a home, we have it -- from townhomes to condos and
villas, to waterfront property, it's all right here. Visit our new

Harbor website.

Palm Harbor Florida real estate is very valuable. Twenty years ago Palm Harbor was mostly
a citrus farm, today it has turned into one of the most affluent unincorporated communities in the Tampa
Bay area. And, since 2002 a movement toward making Palm Harbor into an
incorporated area of Pinellas County has been initiated. Read more about this proposal
here.
Palm Harbor is located in northern Pinellas County on the west coast of Florida not far
from the Gulf of Mexico. Tarpon Springs is to the north and Clearwater is to the south.
As part of the Tampa Bay Real Estate metropolitan area, Palm Harbor is within commuter distance
of both Tampa and St. Petersburg. Residents who buy real estate here can enjoy all the
advantages of a major metropolis while living in an attractive suburban setting. In addition,
Orlando's fun theme parks are only a 90 minute drive away.
East Lake is a part of Palm Harbor.
