Oldsmar is home to one of four oils wells in the state of Florida. Olds spent $100,000 drilling a well that produced water instead oil. The well is now shut down and is on the Tampa Bay Downs Racetrack property. The racetrack is outside the city limits, but it has had a impact on the growth Oldsmar as well as real estate in Oldsmar. Oldsmar also features 34 acres of protected wetlands in the Harbor Palms Nature Park.
