The early pioneer families referred to Largo as their "Pinellas Citrus City" due to the fact
that its extensive orang
e groves provided their livelihood. It was established as the
railroad's mid point between Clearwater and
St. Petersburg in 1888. Many years
ago the only available Largo Florida real estate was undeveloped orange groves.
Now, Largo real estate is emerging as a valuable place to live in comparison with many other
areas of the Tampa Bay area. Today, Largo covers about 14.1 square miles and has
enjoyed rapid growth, with great values, and a population of more than 68,500. Largo is a quiet,
largely residential community with friendly stores and shops, beautiful parks and
recreational facilities, and diverse neighborhoods. Largo is a refreshing city compared
to other areas around Tampa.
Heritage Village in Largo is the area's open-air historical
village containing many historic buildings. Exhibitions are regularly held here. Several
special events are held at the park including the Country Jubilee in October.

The Cultural Center is one of the Largo's premier entertainment facilities, the
Eight O'Clock Theatre, the Children's Series by Stages Production, Suncoast
Singers, and many other local, national, and international stars each year.
Dedicated to providing quality entertainment at reasonable prices, the Cultural
Center has become the destination for arts and entertainment. Overlooking
beautiful Largo Central Park, the Center is also the perfect setting to hold
wedding receptions, meetings, and social events. Visit the
City of Largo website for
more information.
Largo’s central location between all the major cities in the Tampa Bay area
makes its real estate market very appealing. Largo is located just south of
Clearwater and north of St. Petersburg. Tampa is a short commute eastbound
across either of the two scenic bridges that cross over Old Tampa Bay and the
Gulf of Mexico. Continue on further, and you can enjoy all the excitement
Orlando has to offer, about 90 minutes away. Being so close to some of
Florida’s most beautiful beaches as well as three major cities, you can’t go
wrong with owning property in Largo.
