Land O' Lakes Parks
The Land O' Lakes Recreation Center has a calendar of monthly programs for Land O' Lakes
residents to participate in. They also have many amenities for residents and guests to enjoy.
Many leagues have made the LOL Recreation Center their place to play baseball, basketball,
Football, Soccer, Softball and Volleyball. There is also an Olympic size swimming pool with
seasonal memberships available. The gymnasium hosts many different events throughout
the year and at the holidays. There are also tennis courts open to the public as well as a
newly renovated playground for the children. The Land O' Lakes branch Library is located
directly next door to the Recreation Center. This recreation center is within walking distance
from many subdivisions located along Collier Parkway and is a great place for children to play and exercise.
The Land O' Lakes Community Center is host to the annual Land O' Lakes Flapjack Festival
each year that not only involves a free pancake breakfast, but a midway, entertainment,
a parade and an arts and crafts festival. Other times throughout the year the Community
Center is used for different functions, programs, and meetings. On site there are softball,
football, and basketball facilities as well as a shaded playground for the children. The Community
Center also hosts many events throughout the year and at holidays.
Land O' Lakes Annual Events
The Land O' Lakes Flapjack Festival served its first free flapjack in 1983, but the festival itself
began back in 1977. Today the Flapjack Festival serves all of Land O' Lakes and its visitors with
a free flapjack breakfast each year complete with syrup, and yes, you guessed it, Land O' Lakes butter!
Land O' Lakes butter is not made in Land O' Lakes, Florida, however, the Minnesota company agreed to
supply the Land O' Lakes butter and does so each year. The free flapjacks do draw lots of attention
to this festival, bringing in people not only from Land O' Lakes, but the surrounding cities and counties.
Those people typically stick around for the other great festivities that go on during the full three days.
There is local entertainment including dancing, singing, talent shows, magic shows and of course
the “Mr. Legs” contest. There is also an arts and crafts festival which includes local businesses as well as
individual crafters. The midway of rides not only provides hours of fun for thrill seekers, but also carries
the scent of food and snacks that everyone enjoys. Be sure not to miss the flapjack parade featuring
floats, bands, and talented dancers and cheerleaders. Don't miss out on the festivities and your free

Land O' Lakes is primarily made up of small family owned restaurants and cafes, however just
recently there has been a growth of many franchise owned restaurants that are newcomers to the
community. Land O' Lakes is still growing and it's future will see many new restaurants with the
opening of a new mall set to be one of the largest in Florida. There are many communities within
close proximity that have many restaurants to choose from. These communities include New

Land O' Lakes Shopping
Land O' Lakes does have large discount centers, grocery stores and smaller shopping centers.
Home improvement centers and malls are located only a few miles away in Tampa. The closest
large shopping malls are Westfield Shoppingtown Brandon or Citrus Park. University Mall is also very close,
located near the University of South Florida. Land O' Lakes is awaiting the construction of a large shopping
mall of its own set to open in the next year or two. This mall is planned to be the largest in Florida and
include restaurants and a movie theater. Land O' Lakes has been growing so fast that it is not out of the
ordinary to see another construction project beginning, offering Land O' Lakes property owners more
convenience as well as an increase in property value.
