Robert J. Strickland Memorial Park (Hudson Beach) was built by the locals in the 1960's and is the place
where Hudson residents and those from nearby communities go to relax. The fate of this beach came
down to the residents of Hudson coming forward and defending the property they called home. The
property and location here on Hudson Beach was so attractive, that in the 1950's even Walt Disney,
himself looked into Hudson Beach as the future home of what we all know now as Disney World. What
could've been the site of Space Mountain or Cinderella's castle, is now where locals enjoy a day on the boat,
view gorgeous sunsets, dine and just enjoy the Florida sunshine without having to worry about commercialism,
parking issues or overcrowding. Although some tourists have discovered this pleasantly small beach and
choose to vacation here, Hudson Beach, size aside, continues to be a place that can be comfortably
enjoyed by all and where everyone feels welcome.
Veteran's Memorial Park is a large recreational facility that provides Hudson residents and visitors with

The swimming pool is available for use seasonally and guests may purchase a daily admission or season

as softball, football and soccer fields. Children will enjoy the playground and many individuals exercise on the
fitness trail. The picnic areas with shelters are a great place to enjoy a picnic lunch with the family. Check
in with the park staff for a schedule of many activities to enjoy when you own property in Hudson, Florida.
